Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition

On October 27th 2015, the opening ceremony of the Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition was held at Lanting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Peoples War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations. The exhibition was co-hosted by the UN Association of China (UNA-China), the Chinese Peoples Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the Calligraphers Association of the Central State Organs and the Painting and Calligraphy Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Liu Zhixian, Vice President and Director General of the UNA-China, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Lu Shumin, President of the UNA-China, delivered a welcome speech. Mr. Li Baodong, Deputy Foreign Minister and President of the Painting and Calligraphy Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony and presented collection certificates to the calligraphers and painters. Mr. Liu Yuhe, Vice-President and Secretary General of the CPIFA, Mr. Yuan Yanpeng and Mr. Luo Meifu, the Vice Presidents of the Calligraphers Association of the Central State Organs, and Mr. Li Shaoqing, Vice-President of the Painting and Calligraphy Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the activity. More than 150 calligraphers, painters and cadres and staffs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took part in the opening ceremony.

The theme of the exhibition was to bear history in mind, cherish peace and open up the future with joint responsibilities. More than 120 pieces of paintings and calligraphies were collected from all walks of the society including former state leaders, cadres and staffs of central state organs, calligraphers and painters.
